i really liked the scene with Burke and the new resident. her character was annoying up until that point.

Okay, I hated the idea of getting hooked on this show, but I finally am. Great episode. I still say Meredith is whiny as shit and they need to have her character move along and grow a backbone.

LOVED the Bailey replacement (Cynthia something?). Somehow knew there was something else underneath that bubbly bimbo exterior. Have a feeling she's going to turn out quite interesting. Her attack on Burke was priceless when you could see Burke's eyes going, "oh shit. i screwed up".

Not usually one to complain about reality in medical shows, but no hospital I know of would let a fourth year resident run a surgery without supervision from an attending. Talk about your setup for a lawsuit.

I agree George's final line must've been ad-libbed. It was perfect. Even without the sex, think about it - in bed between two gorgeous women AND a PSP. Awesome.

This episode was better then the last two but only by a little bit. It's almost like this show lost an edge after the holiday break.

HATED the Bailey replacement.

The Izzy child story line was a cheap gimmick to pull out I feel.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop having Meredith and Shepard awkward (are they still interested in each other) moments. They make me wretch.
Enough of that already.

Since when did they decide to make Christina a retard? She was walking around like rainman this episode.

And this Merideth/Shepard thing is getting OLD. Let it die already... sheesh!

Christina's apology, as someone else noted, was like the Fonzie apology.

All he was missing was a pastrami on rye with mustard.

I hope this show does not suffer the fate of becoming too showy, ridiculous, and over-the-top as ER. Necrotizing fasciitis this week and
Spoiler:
what looks from the previews to be a bomb or something placed inside a person??
. I'm getting a bad feeling about all this......

They should have had the PSP answer in a robotic voice "I do".

The flesh-eating disease wasn't that over-the-top (although it was a little), but I got a bad feeling from the preview as well. It made it seem like an episode of ER was coming up, as opposed to the show we've come to know and love. But as far as your spoilered part,
Spoiler:
I took it to be some sort of highly contagious disease - Ebola, or the Plague (which does still exist, although rare), or something like that.

Can you tell I don't watch football?

I should probably try and watch the game since it's being played here.

I set my DVR to record GA, the local news that comes and after it, and the show after that.
Better safe than sorry, especially with ABC --remember how they screwed up the big post-SB Alias a few years ago.

The game's over now, so expect the episode to start on the East Coast in ~2.5 hours.

Wow, only a half hour pad would have been needed. Suprising.

This is the first episode that I've ever watched of this show. Is there anything I should know to make anything make more sense?
